The media facade of the new office building at Seoul City Hall features modern and innovative designs that incorporate the traditional five colors of Seoul. This media facade combines these traditional colors with LED lighting technology to adorn the outer walls with a variety of vibrant colors and patterns. Constructed from ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE), the structure is equipped with linear full-color LED lighting fixtures that can produce colors reflecting the five traditional hues of Seoul. Since the lights are installed inside the ETFE double-layer structure, the light sources are not directly exposed to the outside, minimizing visual disruption for drivers. The media facade beautifully harmonizes tradition with modernity, enhancing Seoul's nighttime landscape and solidifying its status as a city landmark. In doing so, the new office building at Seoul City Hall offers visual delight to citizens while reinterpreting traditional culture in a contemporary context.
