About Project

Amorepacific

Amore Pacific's new headquarters is located in Yongsan-gu, Seoul and is famous for being designed by David Chipperfield. The building design was inspired by traditional Korean white porcelain. On the front elevation, shaped louvers are replicated with aluminum fins, and approximately 3,200 lighting devices are installed on top of the louvers. These lighting fixtures are capable of irradiating light into pieces, so together they decorate the entire piece with light at night like a work of art. It emphasizes structural beauty and stands out even more at night. Another feature of Amore Pacific's new headquarters is the lighting system that utilizes the most natural light. Natural and artificial lighting are appropriately mixed to increase harmony and efficiency of indoor space. Large windows and an open structure were designed to allow natural light to enter the interior during the day, thereby reducing energy consumption. The lighting design of Amore Pacific's new headquarters is environmentally friendly and is evaluated as a good example of combining modern design and functionality. This building has become known to be more than just a workspace, positioned as an artistic and environmentally conscious building.
