The ground section of Guui Station
The ground level of Guui Station has undergone a significant transformation as part of a nighttime improvement project in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Previously characterized by inadequate and inconsistent lighting due to aged and broken fixtures, the area has now been brightened to create a welcoming and safe atmosphere. This project involved the installation of lighting in three key areas. First, the lower ceiling of the station was enhanced with Archion L3 line lighting arranged in a wall washer setup, which evenly distributes light across the ceiling and illuminates the crossbeam using Archion P2 floodlights to do uplighting. This combination results in a warm and cozy environment. Additionally, Archion P2 lighting was used on the lower pillars in a downlight configuration to highlight these structural elements while minimizing glare. Finally, the pedestrian pathways were illuminated with downlit Archion P2 lighting, ensuring a safe nighttime environment and enhancing visual comfort for travelers. Through this thoughtful lighting design and installation, the ground space at Guui Station has been transformed into a bright and secure area, significantly contributing to a safer and more attractive urban environment.
